Suté Iwar is a Nigerian musician, music archivist, and film producer. Renowned for his innovative fusion of afrobeat, Hip Hop, and R&B/Soul, Suté’s music explores themes of self-discovery, love, identity and the challenges of modern life, establishing him as a key figure in the alté music scene in Nigeria. He has been actively involved in music archiving, from his work leading the Nigerian Funk project to co-founding afrosonic, a research-focused NGO dedicated to preserving and disseminating Nigerian pop music history and building music education infrastructure across Africa. His work in film currently focuses on documentaries that explore the complexities of afrobeats and its artists. Through his diverse efforts, Suté continues to influence and shape the narrative of African music and culture on a global scale.
