Biography

Meet Wondamagik, the Benue-born sonic architect redefining sound from Nigeria to the world. Born Usman Adams Adakole on January 15, 1982, Wondamagik is a versatile music producer, sound engineer, vocal director, and composer currently based in the U.S. With roots grounded in the soulful discipline of church choristers, his early fascination with harmony evolved into a lifelong mastery of sound. Though he holds a degree in accounting and once worked with the prestigious Hilton Hotels in Abuja, music was always calling and he answered.

His journey began behind the scenes in 2008, working closely with Nigerian music legend Bongos Ikwue as a session recording engineer. Staying off the radar, he quietly built his reputation, freelancing since his university days and developing a distinct sound shaped by both tradition and innovation. In 2014, he relocated to Lagos, Nigeria’s entertainment capital where he joined HF Music as an in-house producer and engineer, working with artists like BOJ, Zeez (DJ Zeez), Big Little, Seven, and Harmonee. His mix of Harmonee’s "Gat Your Back" featuring Ghana’s Stonebwoy and the hit single "Atewo" by Zeez and Olamide were standout records of the time.

From crafting hits to scoring soundtracks, Wondamagik’s sonic fingerprint is wide-reaching. He was the powerhouse behind most of BOJ’s critically acclaimed album MAGIC, which featured heavyweights like Banky W, Seyi Shay, Ayo Jay, and Falz. His versatility also caught the attention of Walt Disney Junior Nigeria, leading to his work on the localized Chip and Dale series with the Afro- pop-infused track “Shake Your Tail Soro Soke.” His personal projects, including Chronicles of Magik Vol. 1 & 2, further showcase his dynamic range across genres and formats.

Now signed to UK-based Exodus Music Group and working under One Fifteen Entertainment LLC in the U.S., Wondamagik is making global waves. His recent credits span Universal Music East Africa, Chike Agada, Psycho YP, Njerae, Naiboi, Wyre, and more. He scored the film Dynamite, earning the British Urban Film Festival 2024 Best Movie Sound and also clinched Best Movie Soundtrack at the Toronto Film Festival 2022 for “You Should Be With Me” featuring Ogranya. As he collaborates on the upcoming Chillhop Timezones Nigeria compilation, Wondamagik continues to prove he's not just a producer he's a force of nature.
