Norvik is the ambient music project of Gabriel Chan.

Norvik's birth came out of need for stories and ways to tell them.  Piano, synthesizers, strings, field recordings, noise and stories blend to form a cinematic amalgam in Norvik’s music.  Influenced by his classical music upbringing, literature and diverse cultural background, Norvik is obsessed with the texture and atmosphere of sound, and how it reveals layers of hidden stories as time passes.

Raised in Melbourne and living in Hong Kong, he has been scoring short films and commercials as well as being a filmmaker himself.

He makes Mood Music that is part-ambient, part-classical and part-electronic, experimenting with different instruments and sounds to create music described as melancholic and decadent.

His favorite thing to do is creating soundtracks to non-existent films.
