We proudly present: Timezones Nigeria, a 22-track compilation created to honor the depth and diversity of Nigeria’s instrumental music, while forging new connections between Nigerian & Chillhop-affiliated artists.

Dedicated to the people driving the sound forward, half the compilation is driven purely by a lineup of Nigeria’s brightest producers and artists, who deliver vibes upon vibes through a chill, instrumental lens. And then, 11 collaborative tracks featuring Chillhop-affiliated artists are scattered across the tracklist, bridging two musical styles in new ways while ensuring that the Nigerian sound remains dominant.

To ensure that Timezones Nigeria reflects the depth and nuance of the country’s music and visual culture, we partnered with Nigerian visual artists and illustrators to develop the project’s artwork and visual identity, and tapped a Nigerian cultural advisor to guide our decisions with care and awareness at every step. The result is a compilation that’s equal parts grounded and innovative, with afrobeats, alté and highlife instrumentals driving the sound.

This is just the beginning. With Timezones, we aim to continue highlighting pioneering instrumental scenes across the globe and creating new connections with one goal: curating boundary-pushing instrumental music that pays homage to its roots.
