Parkbench Epiphany’s five track EP Antimidas continues the artist’s style of blending the melancholic with the uplifting. Born out of many failed musical pursuits, Antimidas explores the idea that through repeated failure, something beautiful can ultimately be created. In other words, the opposite of a ‘Midas Touch’ can still create meaningful moments of art.
The lead track “Waybackwhen”, a collaborative instrumental with Philanthrope, is described by Parkbench Epiphany here: “Waybackwhen is a throwback to simplicity and blissful ignorance. It speaks to a time in life when there was no complexity, just simple curiosity and intrigue, a time when things were good even if not overly layered or complex, and this is represented in the music.”
