Biography
Molly McPhaul picked up the guitar in 2016 and started producing beats a few years later, releasing her first full track "Snacks" in 2021. A storyteller through song, McPhaul's melodic and often complex guitar riffs alone have reached millions.
Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, the daughter of a school teacher and a swim coach, it's easy to see how inspiring others to wonder, create, learn and question are deeply important values to Molly - which she often translates through her writing.
With a discography that doubles as an art gallery, you'll see hand drawn art from McPhaul's mind on the cover of tracks like, "dizzy," "Fallaway," "teen spirit," and "Mesmer." She revealed her debut album's cover was, "inspired by the dollhouse I had in the corner of my room growing up, which eventually became the corner home to my instruments and recording equipment."
With widely acclaimed early works, "Waterfalls, "Embers." and, "11," Molly McPhaul is a female producer force in alternative, lofi, and chill-hop scenes - genre labels never confining her expression. Releasing her debut album, "mollo's world," independently at the end of 2023, she followed up 2 months later working alongside producer Enluv with the mixtape, "beats nobody asked for."
This Marylander also makes music in Catskill Mountain Rescue Club.
